2025: A Year of Becoming

When I look back at 2025, one word comes to mind: becoming.

This was the year I truly started becoming the person I had been working toward since moving to Denmark.

After the struggles of my early days in Copenhagen, housing uncertainty, survival jobs, cultural adjustment, and academic pressure, 2025 felt like the year things finally began to align. It wasn’t easy. It wasn’t perfect. But it was meaningful.

From completing my master’s degree to gaining industry experience, from stepping onto international platforms to deepening my creative skills, this year shaped both my career direction and my personal identity.

One of the proudest milestones of my life happened in 2025: I completed my MSc in Business Administration at Roskilde University (RUC). Defending my thesis marked the end of a long journey filled with deadlines, research stress, financial pressure, and the constant balancing act between studies and work. As an international student, far from family and familiar systems, finishing this degree wasn’t just an academic success. It was proof that resilience works, even when progress feels slow and invisible.

During my thesis period, I also completed an Online Certificate Course in Communication Design and Graphics from South Asian University, New Delhi, India. A major professional turning point in 2025 was my internship at COBOD International as a Product & Communications Designer. A particularly meaningful part of this role was designing a large number of infographics translating complex technical and product information into clear, visually engaging content. This experience strengthened my ability to simplify data, tell visual stories, and communicate value to both technical and non-technical audiences. Alongside my professional roles, I also started learning UX/UI design.

Another defining moment of the year was joining a Danish startup, Dansk Stålfundering, as a Student Assistant – Digital Designer.

I also completed the Greater Copenhagen Career Program (GCCP) under Københavns Erhvervshus. For many international graduates, the Danish job market can feel confusing and invisible. GCCP gave me clarity. From CV optimization and interview preparation to understanding referral-based hiring and the hidden job market, this program reshaped how I approach my career in Denmark. It reminded me that success here isn’t just about qualifications, it’s about visibility, relationships, and timing.

I attended the International Talent Conference 2025 organized by Copenhagen Capacity, hosted by Novo Nordisk and Hillerød Kommune. The event offered deep insight into how global companies attract, retain, and integrate international professionals into the Danish workforce. I also participated in a job fair in Kalundborg, where I had the chance to connect directly with employers, recruiters, and industry representatives.

2025 wasn’t only about Denmark - it was about the world.

I had the honor of attending the HISA Youth Fellowship at Oxford University, engaging with young leaders from different countries and exchanging ideas on leadership, policy, and global change. I was also selected as a fully funded delegate for IVF 2025 in Turkey, representing youth leadership and global collaboration on an international platform.

Back in Denmark, I participated in International Citizens Day 2025, a national-level civic and cultural celebration that strengthened my sense of belonging in my new home.

I also joined TechLabs Copenhagen as Head of Marketing and volunteered at NDC Copenhagen, one of the major tech conferences. These experiences helped me grow my professional network while giving back to the community.

Behind every achievement, there was an emotional story.

2025 taught me the importance of balance. Having my spouse by my side through every high and low made all the difference. Sharing struggles, decisions, and small victories together kept me grounded during uncertain moments.

At the same time, staying connected with my parents and family in Bangladesh remained a priority. Being far from home isn’t easy especially when responsibilities don’t disappear just because borders exist. This year taught me how to carry ambition without losing compassion.

To everyone who supported me in 2025 my friends, mentors, professors, colleagues, startup teammates, event organizers, and my family - thank you. Your encouragement, reference, advice, and kindness carried me through moments when self-doubt felt heavier than hope.
